Sustainability in Life Sciences: Novellas Healthcare Publishes Its First Sustainability Report

Building a more sustainable healthcare industry starts with the choices we make today.

In the life sciences industry, sustainability is about much more than reducing environmental impact. It is about building a healthcare ecosystem where quality, ethical practices, responsible innovation and long-term relationships go hand in hand.

For pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, working with responsible partners is increasingly important. From protecting sensitive patient information to ensuring quality and compliance throughout a clinical project, every decision contributes to the reliability and long-term impact of healthcare services.

At Novellas Healthcare, we believe sustainability should be part of how we operate, how we treat people and how we collaborate with our partners.

Today, we are proud to take an important step in that journey with the publication of our first Sustainability Report, covering 2025.

Our sustainability journey: More than an environmental commitment

Sustainability has always been closely connected to our vision of creating meaningful, long-term value for people and healthcare organisations.

With more than 25 years of experience in life sciences, we understand that sustainable growth is not simply about expanding a business. It is about creating the right conditions for people, organisations and healthcare solutions to thrive over time.

Our approach is built around three interconnected pillars:

  • Environmental responsibility: Reducing our ecological footprint through more sustainable mobility, responsible resource management and improved operational efficiency.
  • Social responsibility: Promoting employee wellbeing, equal opportunities, diversity, inclusion and sustainable careers, both within Novellas Healthcare and through our recruitment activities.
  • Responsible governance: Strengthening quality, ethical conduct, GDPR compliance, information security and transparent business practices.

Our first Sustainability Report brings these commitments together, providing a transparent overview of our current performance, the initiatives already in place and the improvements we aim to achieve.

Sustainability in action: Our priorities for the years ahead

We recognise that sustainability is a continuous journey. While we have already taken important steps, there are areas where we can and must improve.

One of our priorities is the environmental impact of our company fleet.

In 2025, 32% of our fleet consisted of fully electric vehicles.
Our ambition is to increase this proportion progressively, reaching a fully electric company fleet by 2030.

Beyond mobility, we are working to improve how we measure and manage energy consumption, CO₂ emissions and resource use, while encouraging digital-first processes and more responsible everyday habits.

But sustainability also means investing in the people who make our organisation successful.

Our 2025 report highlights an 84% employee wellbeing score, alongside our continued focus on professional development, inclusive employment practices and workplace safety.

These indicators help us identify where we are making progress and where further action is needed.

What makes our approach different? Sustainability through lasting relationships

At Novellas Healthcare, we believe one of our most meaningful contributions to sustainability comes through the relationships we build.

For our candidates and consultants, sustainability means creating opportunities that go beyond filling an immediate vacancy.

Whether through permanent recruitment, outsourcing or freelance staffing, our ambition is to connect professionals with environments where they can develop, contribute and build meaningful careers.

Fair selection, equal opportunities, respect for diversity and long-term employability are fundamental principles of our recruitment approach.

Our outsourced professionals and freelancers also benefit from structured onboarding and awareness initiatives covering quality standards, our Code of Conduct, sustainability, data protection and responsible use of AI.

For our pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, sustainability means building partnerships that last.

We do not see ourselves simply as a service provider delivering an assignment and moving on. We aim to become a trusted partner who understands the broader challenges behind each project.

Whether supporting a growing organisation with specialised talent, conducting clinical research or developing Patient Support Programs and HCP engagement solutions, our goal remains the same: to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that create value beyond the immediate project.

This long-term perspective allows us to combine specialised expertise, quality-driven processes and continuous improvement to support our partners as their needs evolve.

Quality, compliance and trust: Essential foundations of sustainable healthcare

In life sciences, responsible business practices are inseparable from quality and compliance.
Pharmaceutical organisations rely on partners that can demonstrate reliable processes, ethical conduct and responsible management of sensitive information.

That is why quality management, privacy protection, cybersecurity and regulatory awareness are central to our approach.
By investing in structured processes, professional training and information security, we aim to protect the trust placed in us by clients, healthcare professionals and patients.

Because a sustainable healthcare partnership is not only one that lasts. It is one that remains reliable, responsible and fit for purpose as expectations evolve.

Our first report. A starting point, not a finish line.

Publishing our first Sustainability Report is an important milestone, but it is not the end of our journey.

Prepared with reference to the VSME sustainability reporting framework, the report outlines our environmental, social and governance performance for 2025, as well as our improvement priorities for 2026–2030.

Our ambition is to strengthen our measurement capabilities, improve transparency and turn commitments into measurable progress.
We know that there is still work to do, and that is precisely why we believe reporting matters.

At Novellas Healthcare, we want to grow responsibly, challenge ourselves to do better and build relationships that create lasting value for people, healthcare and society. Discover where we stand today, what we have learned and where we are heading next.
