Your future role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Freelance Scientific Writer to strengthen a growing project team. This is a hands-on assignment for an independent freelancer with proven experience in grant writing and preparing successful funding applications.
The assignment starts at 2–3 days per week for an initial 3-month period, with the intention to build a long-term collaboration. You will work primarily on life sciences projects (80%), with occasional projects in other sectors such as automotive,... (20%).
Location:
Preferably living near Ghent, with 1 day per week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and coordinate high-quality grant applications.
- Prepare and submit funding applications for VLAIO and Horizon Europe (proven affinity/experience is required).
- Develop subsidy funding dossiers and supporting documentation.
- Translate complex scientific information into clear, structured proposals.
- Review scientific literature and integrate relevant evidence into grant applications.
- Work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
- Collaborate directly with project stakeholders to deliver successful submissions.
